May 2023 Newsletter

Welcome friends! I am so grateful for each one of you and the connections with you through my hikes, classes, and retreats. Thank you for reading my newsletter where each month I will continue to share with you more of my personal journey and things I have been learning, teaching, reading, and loving. My hope is that you will find something that speaks to your heart and leads you toward healing and happiness in your own life. What I am learning:

April has been a month full of learning opportunities. I attended an inspiring retreat in beautiful Moab, Utah, at the beginning of the month. This was foundational training for intuitive coaches and healers and was led by the amazing Christy Carter. It is difficult to put into words the transformations and discoveries that unfolded there. Engaging in intensive learning each day; together with opportunities to experience nature, healing, and learning alongside the most amazing women, made this a learning opportunity I will always remember. In addition, I participated in a couple of online courses from Kelly Love this month, learning more about body language. It has been fascinating to learn more about how our body stores our life experiences and reflects them back in our face and body. I am excited to dive deeper into this topic and learn more about our amazing bodies. I have also been continuing my voice lessons with Coach Quacee. I am learning more about vocal health and have felt and heard improvements in my voice as I have practiced the exercises and tools, he is teaching me. This month, we made a connection that some of the struggles with my voice are related to long-held emotions and shame around my voice. Working through and uncovering layers of healing this month through my retreat, courses, and coaching has been incredibly difficult at times, yet so rewarding. So grateful for the coaches and teachers that I have had the opportunity to learn from.

What I am offering:

My amazing mentor and friend, Sariah Bastian, is hosting a women’s retreat this month from May 16-20, and I will be assisting her. Starting in June, I will be offering my mini retreats once again. I am so excited for the June retreat this year! One of my dear friends will be teaching us a fun macrame bookmark project. In addition, we will spend time moving our bodies, journaling, connecting, and enjoying delicious food. Go to https//www.joyfulbalancedhealth.com/retreats to sign up today as spots are limited. My 10-day online masterclass “Foundations for a Mindful Life” is available online. It is a self-paced course that can be enrolled in at any time. In this course you will learn simple foundational practices that will invite you to begin living in a more mindful way.

My online course “A Mindful Life Method” is a more in-depth self-paced online course that will lead you on a journey of reconnection with yourself. You will learn tools to reduce stress and anxiety in your life and practices that will help you live a more balanced, joyful life. Registration is available on an ongoing basis and group coaching calls will be every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Every Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm MST, I have an amazing group of ladies that join me for a yoga class with breathwork and guided meditation. We have built a beautiful community of women and I look forward to teaching them each week. This is an online class and we always love when new friends join. First class is free and cost is $5 each class after. Email me for more information!

Once a month I host a free women’s hiking group for ladies in my local area of Southern Utah. Our next outing will be on May 13 qt 10 am. We are planning to hike Spring Creek Canyon in Kanarraville. This is a 5.3-mile hike rated as moderate. There are river crossings and a beautiful slot canyon at the end. This is one of my favorite local hikes. Stay tuned for updates or changes due to weather. I am also selling homemade herbal salves on my website. Choose from Calendula, Pine, Rosemary, or Calendula mixed with Rosemary. The calendula and rosemary salves are made from homegrown organic herbs and the pine salve is carefully harvested from Pinion pines in the Southern Utah area. These salves have many beneficial properties and are a great addition to your home first aid kit.

What I am reading:

This month my reading has mainly been focused on materials for my courses/retreats. Here are a couple of quotes from my reading materials that really spoke to me.

What I am loving:

I am really loving the opportunities that continue to unfold in my life. When I look back a few years ago, I never would have imagined that my life would be where it is today. It is still a continual, daily striving to find alignment and to live purposefully, however, the unfolding process has been amazing. I especially love the incredible people that have been brought into my life (if you are reading this then you are very much included in that sentiment). I have recognized that one of my deep values is loving connection and I feel blessed to have connected with so many inspiring people on my life’s journey. What are you loving lately?
