July 2023 Newsletter

Welcome friends! I am so grateful for each one of you and the connections with you through my hikes, classes, and retreats. Thank you for reading my newsletter where each month I will continue to share with you more of my personal journey and things I have been learning, teaching, reading, and loving. My hope is that you will find something that speaks to your heart and leads you toward healing and happiness in your own life. Please feel free to share this email with any friends or family who you feel may benefit from it as well.

What I am learning:

This last month my husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary, my daughter was married, and I hosted my first mini-retreat of the year with a dear friend of mine. It was a busy month that was full of emotion and opportunities to practice my “tools”. I am learning that the more I practice grounding, awareness, feeling emotion, and being present day to day, the easier it is in stressful and emotional moments to be present and aware. I am also learning to really trust that the way life unfolds offers us so many gifts. Things most often do not turn out how I plan or think they might, however, I am learning to see the beauty in the unplanned and unstructured moments. I am also learning that time with loved ones is even more valuable than I realized and truly is what brings so much meaning to life. Sending so much love and gratitude to each of you for your gifts, your wisdom, your time, and your presence in my life❤

What I am offering:

*Mini retreats continue this month. I am so excited for the July retreat, as I will be collaborating with the talented Amy Leavitt, to offer you a breathwork detox during the evening session. She will be sharing a guided breathwork session and meditation. In addition, we will spend time moving our bodies, journaling, connecting, and enjoying delicious food.

The morning retreat will be filled with gentle movement, breathwork, meditation, journaling, an art project, connection, and delicious food.

Go to https//www.joyfulbalancedhealth.com/retreats to sign up today as spots are limited. Choose from a morning or evening option on July 15th.

*Every Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm MST, I have an amazing group of ladies that join me for a yoga class with breathwork and guided meditation. We have built a beautiful community of women and I look forward to teaching them each week. This is an online class and we always love when new friends join. First class is free and cost is $5 each class after. Please join our group app by emailing me at joyfulbalancedhealth@gmail.com if you are interested in joining us. (No class on July 4th)

*Once a month I host a free women’s hiking group for ladies in my local area of Southern Utah. Our next outing will be on July 8th at 9 am. We are planning to hike Rattlesnake Creek/Hidden Haven up Cedar Canyon. The wildflowers should be beautiful! Stay tuned for updates or changes due to weather. I look forward to seeing you all on the trail! If you are interested in joining us for a hike, email me at joyfulbalancedhealth@gmail.com.

*I had the opportunity to offer a private, in-home yoga lesson last week and was reminded how much I love individualized teaching. This offering is not on my website currently, so please reach out via email if a personalized yoga session is of interest to you.

*I am also selling homemade herbal salves on my website. Choose from Calendula, Pine, Rosemary, or Calendula mixed with Rosemary. The calendula and rosemary salves are made from homegrown organic herbs and the pine salve is carefully harvested from Pinion pines in the Southern Utah area. These salves have many beneficial properties and are a great addition to your home first aid kit.

If any of these offerings are of interest to you, please reach out to me for more information!

What I am reading:

I have been reading the book “Eastern Body, Western Mind” by Anodea Judith. Learning about the chakras has been fascinating to me. I love learning another way to integrate mind, body, and spirit as I move through my own healing journey. The chakra system is misunderstood by many, however, for me it has added clarity to truths I hold close to my heart. They invite us to look at major areas of our lives;  love, relationships, communication, intuition, and emotions, among others. As we understand the wisdom of the chakras, we can find balance in our relationship with ourselves and others, stay grounded, deepen our spiritual connection, communicate more clearly, and find purpose and healing. What have you learned about the chakras and how has this knowledge guided your healing journey?

What I am loving:

I am loving the opportunity I had to travel and see the beauty of the world around me last month. I spent time in Alaska viewing the beauty of the ocean, the mountains, the glaciers, and the wildlife and also spent time in Idaho exploring waterfalls and mountains and farms. We live in such a beautiful world and. I love seeing the beauty of different areas.

Where is one of your favorite places to explore?

Sending you all love and light,

❤Jessica
