June 2025 Newsletter
Dear friends,
I hope this message finds you well. I have truly missed interacting with each of you these past several months. I found myself in the midst of a significant life change and though the ripple effects are still continuing, I am finally feeling like I am on some solid ground after months of turbulence and instability. The lessons I have learned have been deeply profound and life altering. I have made a very thoughtful, though challenging decision, to relocate and will no longer be in Utah after July. Many of my offerings will continue online and I hope to have continued connection with many of you that way.
What I am learning:
I am continuing to learn that change is the only constant in our lives. After the changes I have navigated through the past several months that included so much loss and grief, I hoped to have a moment to catch my breath. Instead, May brought the loss of my sweet grandma and the loss of a friend within a few days of each other. Attending the celebrations of their lives and contemplating on the thoughts shared about them, I was reminded how much each of our lives truly matter. How much of an impact we have, even when we are living a simple, quiet life. I am learning that the way our lives connect and intertwine, even if for only a short time, can be profoundly life changing. We never know how much our presence, our smile, our kindness, or friendship might mean to another person. As we all navigate change and loss and uncertainty in so many ways in our individual lives, offering our light and presence to others holds so much importance. How can you offer your love and presence to someone navigating change right now?
What I am offering:
PSYCHOSOMATIC THERAPY:
I will be offering a 1 hour call this month on June 18th at noon MST and a repeat of the same call again that evening at 8 pm MST. This will be an opportunity for you to experience what psychosomatic therapy is and how it can transform your life. The focus will be on our foundation/feet. Message me for the zoom link if you are interested. This call will be a *donation based* offering. I hope to see you there!
Individual sessions may also be booked for a face, feet, or full body reading. This is a great way to begin to see yourself and your patterns more clearly.
YOGA:
I am planning to begin offering both online and in person classes again in July. Join our Facebook group here to stay up to date on when and where classes will be offered: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1997436973946383/?ref=share_group_link. First class is always free and $15 per class after.
HIKING:
Unfortunately, our women’s hiking group will no longer be meeting. I want to offer my deepest gratitude to each one of you that joined me on our monthly hikes over the past few years. I loved enjoying the beauty of Southern Utah with you and deepening our connections with one another. I hope you will continue to find ways to hike and explore this beautiful area.
SALVES:
My salves are made from homegrown, handpicked or foraged organic herbs. They can be purchased on my website. Users of these products have found them helpful for the following conditions:
· Calendula-wound healing, eczema, swollen lymph nodes, diaper rash, reduce scars and stretch marks, burns, bug bites, chapped lips, bruising
· Pine-achy muscles, joint pain, chest congestion, headaches, fever, insect bites, rashes, cuts
· Yarrow-nosebleeds, varicose veins, sprains, bruises, hemorrhoids, and stopping bleeding. This is a great salve to have in any 1st Aid kit.
· Calendula lip balm-soothes and comforts dry chapped lips
COACHING:
Starting in July, I will be offering one-on-on coaching for anyone navigating through transitions of their own. Combining all of the modalities and tools I have learned, along with my life experience to offer you guidance as you navigate your own path. Whether you are moving, entering a new stage of life, navigating faith transitions, experiencing loss, or simply need support to navigate the daily turmoil of life I would love to walk beside you. My trainings include Intuitive Coaching and Healing Certification, Psychosomatic Practitioner level 3, Reiki 1 Certification, 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, Prior coaching for Beyond Breath with Sariah Bastian, and a Bachelors of Science in Human Nutrition. I am currently enrolled in a Restorative and Yin Yoga certification and will complete a holotropic breathwork certification by the end of June as well.
If any of these offerings are of interest to you, please reach out to me at joyfulbalancedhealth@gmail.com
What I am reading:
I am taking a Restorative and Yin Yoga certification so my reading is currently centered around these courses. I am learning more about the power of these gentler, slower moving yoga classes. They are a great way to reduce stress, promote overall well-being, and build inner peace. Have you tried Restorative or Yin Yoga? If yes, What did you love about the class? What did you find challenging about the class?
What I am loving:
I am loving the warmer weather and soaking up the beauty of Southern Utah. It really is a magical place. I am loving moments with family and friends and treasuring the time I have with them. I am loving the new opportunities and experiences that are on the horizon. I am loving that I get to wake up each day and begin again. What are you loving most right now?
With love,
♥️Jessica
As an addition to my regular newsletter, I wanted to share a poem I wrote and shared on Instagram about my recent trip to the Tetons and some of the lessons I am learning. My wish is that it may offer inspiration and hope as you face whatever challenges are in front of you currently. I hope that you will remember your strength and beauty and wisdom. And remember how very much you are loved.
Poem:
I hiked the trails alone this time
in the place we once returned to, year after year
carrying the memory of a love
that no longer walks beside me.
Deep into the woods I walked,
grief heavy in my soul,
pain curled tight in my chest.
With every step, wonder returned.
Layers of sorrow gave way
to birdsong
and the deep, rich scent of pine.
The trees didn’t ask me to explain.
The mountains didn’t turn away.
The Tetons rose
snow-capped,
steadfast,
resolute
reminding me
of the strength that still lives in me.
The warm sun on my back.
A breeze whispering softly.
Moose on the shoreline—majestic, bold.
Marmots scurried curiously close.
Laughter echoed in the distance
a gentle nudge
to soften,
to be.
I sat at the water’s edge,
the cold rock pressing into my thighs.
The crystal-clear water—a perfect mirror
of the woman I am becoming.
Chainsaws buzzed.
Workers chatted.
Life—present, messy, loud
consumed by my thoughts
until I noticed:
ducks drifting peacefully,
fish leaping joyfully,
a baby bear nestled in the treetop
all as if to say:
There is peace here.
There is joy for you, too.
You are safe.
Waterfalls roared
like the unanswered questions in my mind.
Bison moved
with the grace and strength I longed for.
Elk gathered
in the kind of community I craved.
And in all of it—
a whisper of something more.
I watched the sun set
behind the mountain peaks
Spectacular.
Unapologetic.
Bold.
And the brilliance gave the version of me—
who believed she had to stay small,
quiet, unseen to be safe—
permission to rise
in beauty and strength.
And I did.
I found my feet.
My power.
My voice.
I chose myself
again and again
with every footstep.
This is my love story now
not one written for or by another,
but one I choose
with each breath, each step.
Rooted in softness.
Rising in strength.
Under the wide, endless sky,
I remember who I am.
