October 2025 Newsletter
Dear friends,
September was a month of stepping into fear and choosing to keep moving forward with small, intentional steps. I began teaching classes at Sunset Therapy Center and have loved connecting with the other amazing providers there. It feels so good to be teaching again. I have also been working with my teacher to uncover the roots of some limiting beliefs and take steps toward changing them so I can live more fully.
Thank you for being here and joining me on my continued journey. I am so grateful to each one of you!
What I am learning:
This month I completed a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Certification Course with Calvin Coyles that was amazing. As always, new trainings begin as something I first practice in my own life. As I integrate the shifts and changes, I feel called to share the techniques and what I have learned with others. To practice, I am offering three free NLP sessions this month. “NLP is a set of principles and techniques aimed at enhancing self-awareness, increasing confidence, building communication skills, and motivating positive social actions.” (definition from Psychology Today). Using techniques like anchoring, belief change, reframing, and visualization NLP can help you understand more clearly your helpful/unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs. Or more simply, NLP is a set of tools that help us understand how our thoughts and language shape our lives. It can support greater confidence, clarity, and more empowering choices. In conjunction with my Psychosomatic Therapy and other trainings, I believe NLP will be a powerful tool for transformation for many.
How this course impacted me personally-
This month was not easy. The impact of all the change in my life this last year, the loss and grief, and fears of providing for myself allowed deep feelings of inadequacy to set in. I began teaching again which triggered old limiting beliefs around my value and abilities. On one of our NLP calls, I witnessed a powerful transformation in another participant as she worked through her own limiting beliefs with Calvin on a live call. Something shifted within me as I witnessed her transformation and gave me a desire to explore more deeply my limiting beliefs. With my teacher’s guidance, I uncovered a core belief that I’ve carried: that my presence alone is not enough and that I must prove I am worthy of love. I noticed the many subtle ways this belief shapes my relationships, my business, and my choices. As painful as this realization was, I can see how it has also become a gift. Over this past month, in several different interactions, people have reflected back to me how much my presence has meant to them and how being with them in a grounded, loving way created deep shifts for them. Hearing their reflections was not enough, however. The shifts began for me, when I recognized the belief, where it originated, and began to sit with it with compassion, curiosity, and presence. Through psychosomatic practices, NLP tools, and gentle awareness, I was able to separate the story from my truth. I realized this wound does not define me and that it is showing me where some of my deepest medicine lives. As I have leaned into allowing myself to just be, without performing or proving, without hiding emotion or shrinking to make others comfortable, I have begun to feel a transformation. What once felt like a heavy burden has slowly revealed itself as a sacred invitation- to see that my deepest wound is also my greatest gift. Our wounds can shape us, teach us, and ultimately bless us and others in ways we could never imagine once we lean into them with openness and courage.
Do you have a wound that has also become a gift? I would love to hear how this unfolded in your life.

What I am reading:
I have been listening to the book “The Wound Makes the Medicine” by Pixie Lighthorse. The author shares how to embrace our wounds as teachers to heal from pain and loss. She focuses on the elements-fire, water, earth, and air-to guide us through a unique way of healing. This book helps us learn how to create the conditions for change within ourselves. I am only part way through this book but have loved it so far.
I have also been reading “Awakening Shakti” by Sally Kempton. My teacher and I are using this book to help me cultivate new strengths and to help anchor the supportive beliefs I am choosing now, instead of the old narratives and stories I carried for so many years.
I am looking for new books to read and would love your recommendations for your favorite books of all genres.
What I am loving:
I am loving the opportunity to build community here and the amazing people I have been meeting. I really love hearing others life experiences and recognizing how unique, and yet how connected, we all are. I see that through pain and heartbreak I have been led to opportunities for deeper connection and community.
