October 2022 Newsletter

Welcome friends! Thank you for being a part of my growing community. Each month I will share with you more of my personal journey and things I am learning, teaching, reading, and loving. My hope is that you will find something that speaks to your heart and leads you toward healing and happiness in your own life. Please feel free to share this email with any friends or family who you feel may benefit from it as well.

What I am learning:

Last month, I began a Vocal Awakening course and am learning so many things already through this course. One beautiful takeaway in our first class was this thought “Our own sound is healing-our voice is the medicine within us.” As we use our voice to speak and share truth, we can bring healing to ourselves and to those around us. I am learning to play the ukulele and in our second class learned C, A minor, and F chords. Learning an instrument and learning to use our voice both take daily practice and dedication. I love learning new things and growing in areas in my life that I am not as confident in.

How are you using your voice to speak and share truth in your life? What are you learning or what ways are you growing in your own life?

What I am teaching:

This month on October 22 from 9am-noon will be my final mini retreat of the year. Come enjoy a relaxing morning learning yoga, breathwork, and meditation as you connect with other incredible women and enjoy some delicious treats. Only 10 spots available so sign up early to secure your spot.

My 10-day online masterclass “Foundations for a Mindful Life” is available online. It is a self-paced course that can be enrolled in at any time. In this course you will learn simple foundational practices that will invite you to begin living in a more mindful way.

My next session of A Mindful Life Method begins on January 12th. This is a more in-depth 6-week online course that will lead you on a journey of reconnection with yourself that teaches you tools to reduce stress and anxiety in your life.

Every Tuesday evening at 8:30 pm MST, I have an amazing group of ladies that join me for a yoga class with breathwork and guided meditation. We have built a beautiful community of women and I look forward to teaching them each week. This is an online class and we always love when new friends join. Once a month I host a women’s hiking group for ladies in my local area of Southern Utah. Our next outing will be on October 8th at 9am. We will be hiking in Kolob this month, so sadly no dogs are allowed this time. The fall colors should be incredible and I am looking forward to hiking again with all of you.

If any of these classes or events are of interest to you, please reach out to me for more information!

What I am reading:

I have been rereading the book “Living Buddah, Living Christ” by Thich Nhat Hanh. A passage that really struck me was one about peace. It states “Our capacity to make peace with another person and with the world depends very much on our capacity to make peace with ourselves…the most basic work for peace is to return to ourselves and create harmony among the elements within us-our feelings, our perceptions, and our mental states. That is why the practice of meditation, looking deeply, is so important.”

I have found this to be very true in my own life. As I practice mindfulness and find peace within, I have observed how my interactions with others are more loving and peaceful. What are your observations in your own life about this?

What I am loving:

I am loving my morning walks with my husband and our dogs. The cool, crisp air and the beauty of the colors changing, moving my body, and enjoying connection with my husband begin my day in a grounded, delightful way. I love the incredible beauty of this area and feel so much gratitude to live here. What are you loving in your life right now?

I would love to hear from you and learn more about each one of you. Please reply and tell me what are you most interested in these days?

Sending you all love and light,

Jessica

A Personal note:

This last month, I was privileged to co-host the first Connect and Reflect Women’s Retreat here on our property, in conjunction with Coral Simpson (Owner of We Are One Health) and Sara Greene (Owner of Raindrop Visions). Almost a year of planning and preparation went into this 3-day retreat and our hopes and expectations were more than fulfilled. We had absolutely incredible women who participated and showed up in a beautiful way. The weather was absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious, and the offerings were accepted wholeheartedly. I personally learned and grew so much from this experience and have so much gratitude for the opportunity I had to be part of this amazing event. My heart is filled when I am able to share my love of yoga, breathwork, meditation, journaling, and nature with others. A heartfelt thank you to each one of you that attend my classes or retreats, participate in the women’s group hikes, or support me with your kind, encouraging words. I am so grateful to each one of you for the impact you have on me and for the connection I have with each of you. From the bottom of my heart-Thank you!
